Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson LIVE: Result and reaction as fight panned as ‘elderly abuse’ and ‘disgusting’
Jake Paul outpointed Mike Tyson over eight rounds in their controversial Netflix fight after Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano produced another bloody classic
Jake Paul battled past a 58-year-old Mike Tyson to clinch a points victory in one of the most controversial fights of all time.
Tyson took on YouTuber Paul, 27, live on Netflix in the former heavyweight champion’s first professional bout in 19 years, but immediately appeared to be a shadow of himself.
Paul, without ever needing to exert himself, eased to victory while boxing on the outside of the ring in front of 70,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Tyson conceded he had an injury entering the bout but refused to make it an excuse for his performance, with Paul hinting that he was reluctant to commit to his combinations through fear: “I was trying to hurt him a little bit. But I was scared, he was trying to hurt me too.”
In the evening’s co-main event, there was controversy and plenty of action as Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano in their rematch in what developed into another classic. The Puerto Rican’s gruesome cut following a headbutt from the Irishwoman led to cries of outrage afterward, with the losing camp accusing the champion of dirty tactics - follow the latest reaction and relive all the results from Arlington below:
Comment: Paul vs Tyson on Netflix – a night of bad sport and indifferent entertainment
When the bods at the Disney channel, back in 2016, put together the cast list for Bizaardvark, they could’ve had little idea that, within a decade, two of their young stars would be selling out stadiums.
Olivia Rodrigo, on the one hand, playing to 50,000 fans in Manila on the world tour for her new album – and clean-cut Jake Paul, on the other, punching a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, in the face, for 72,000 paying spectators in Texas. But then again, few people could have predicted the trajectory of modern superstardom.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson was but the latest in a series of fights intended to repackage sports for a generation addicted to the creator economy.

Serrano won, says Jake Paul
Jake Paul has commented on the brutal undercard fight which took place before his underwhelming bout with Mike Tyson.
Ireland’s Katie Taylor beat Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano for the second time in two-and-a-half years in controversial circumstances.
Taylor won by unanimous decision, a verdict Serrano has expressed frustration about after the fight.
Jake Paul agrees, writing on X after his fight with Tyson: “Amanda Serrano Won. She’s the biggest star in women’s combat sports.”
KSI offers damning indictment of ‘abuse’ after Tyson defeat
Before the fight KSI had suggested it wouldn’t be a close battle, pouring scorn on the match-up.
“Boxing is a young man’s game and Mike is 58 years old. They’re sending a lamb to the slaughter and it’s disgusting,” he said.
Afterwards? Nothing to change his mind.
“What a sad watch,” KSI said on Instagram. “Whole thing was sad.
“Mike Tyson is twice the age of Jake Paul. It was never ever going to be close.
“I can’t believe that this elderly abuse was even sanctioned. Just disgusting.”

Jake Paul: ‘It was an honour'

“Prime @MikeTyson would have destroyed @jakepaul in 90 seconds,” Morgan wrote in his post on Staurday morning.
“A 58yr-old Tyson went 8 rounds against a much fitter and very capable boxer half his age. Mock him all you like, but Mike’s got the heart of a lion, balls of steel, and will always be an absolute legend.”
Quoting the tweet, Paul said: “Who mocked him? He’s a fucking beast. All respect to the Baddest Ever. It was an honor to share the ring with him @MikeTyson”

Paul v Tyson official punch stats reveal damning truth behind controversial fight
The controversial and much-discussed fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul ended up as seemingly a less-than-thrilling occasion for many fans who went, with the AT&T Stadium emptying in some areas before the main event had even finished.
Part of that was down to apparent dissatisfaction from the spectators, with boos hurled down at a lack of action in the second half of the fight in particular.
Paul, 27, beat Tyson, 58, on points following eight two-minute rounds, with the scorecards reading 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 in the younger man’s favour.
