Summer is in our sights, and that means only one thing for our deal-hunting team: Amazon Prime Day is drawing near. If you're looking for vacuum cleaner deals, we recommend bookmarking this guide, where we’ll share everything you need to know ahead of the sale.

Now more than 10 years old, Amazon’s flagship sale brings Prime members deals on tech, beauty, home, and more, including those on Amazon’s own-branded products. Last year, best-selling items included the Fire TV Stick (£39.99, Amazon.co.uk) and Ninja’s foodi dual zone air fryer (£149.99, Amazon.co.uk). The deals are exclusive to Prime members, but it's easy to sign up for an account, and there is usually a free 30-day trial available.

Home appliances (think air fryers, TVs and coffee machines) tend to see some of the biggest savings during annual sale events, and vacuum cleaners are no exception. For a flavour of what we can expect this year, we’ve seen deals on cordless, handheld, corded, and robot vacuum cleaners, from brands including Shark, Eufy, Samsung, and Gtech.

While the sale won’t happen for a while yet, we’ve covered everything we know so far and found some great deals on vacuum cleaners that you can shop right now.

When do Prime Day vacuum cleaner deals start?

Though the actual dates of the sale are still very much under wraps, the retailer has confirmed the event will be taking place in July. Last year, the 48-hour sale ran from 16 to 17 July, and the year before that from 11 to 12 July. It’s speculative, but if previous years are anything to go by, it might start on Tuesday and end on Wednesday, either from 9 July or 16 July.

What vacuum cleaner deals can we expect in the Prime Day sale?

The retailer says Prime Day will see ‘Amazon’s best deals of the summer’. While we can’t confirm that, and don’t know the products and exact discounts to expect, we can still look at deals from previous years to get an idea of how good the sale could be. Last year, tried and tested models from brands including Samsung and Vax saw big discounts.

You could have saved nearly 40 per cent on Shark’s cordless stick vacuum cleaner with anti hair wrap (now £189.99, Amazon.co.uk), while a handheld vacuum cleaner from Gtech was similarly reduced. Bosch’s unlimited vacuum and mop was reduced by £100 (now £440.72, Amazon.co.uk), and Shark’s lift-away upright vacuum cleaner with true pet was knocked down by nearly 30 per cent (now £218, Amazon.co.uk).

Our best cordless vacuum cleaner has been reduced by 40 per cent at Amazon, and we’ll let you know if it drops even further as we head closer to Prime Day in July. Our reviewer and vacuum cleaner expert, Zoe, described the suction power on this model as “a dream” and praised the sense IQ technology that automatically adjusts the cleaning power. If you miss out on the Amazon deal, you can also get it for the same price at Shark and Currys.

Shark corded upright vacuum cleaner: Was £299.99, now £179.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Shark)

Now reduced to £179.99, Shark’s corded upright vacuum cleaner has fallen close to its lowest ever price of £160. It comes with the brand’s anti hair wrap technology that prevents pet and human hair from getting tangled in the brush roll as you clean. The two brush rolls help to seamlessly move from carpet to hard floor, while LED headlights illuminate hidden dirt.

iRobot roomba combo essential vacuum and mop robot vacuum: Was £269, now £178.65, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

If you really hate vacuuming, you might consider investing in a robot vacuum cleaner. These models navigate their way around your home and do most of the hard cleaning work for you. Even better, this particular model from leading name and IndyBest tried and tested brand, iRobot, also has a mopping function. With this deal, it has more than £80 off.

Vax airlift2 pet plus: Was £219.99, now £119, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

Our IndyBest reviewer Zoe Griffin said this was the best corded model for cleaning upholstery. She found that it took seconds to convert it into a handheld vacuum cleaner, too. “Having only used battery-operated handhelds in the car before, it was a real eye-opener to witness the power of this corded Vax on our mucky car seats,” she wrote. And, with this deal, you can get it for nearly half price.
