YOUR poll found that the Queen is a more popular figure than the Prince of Wales. An explanation may be that, unlike her son, the monarch can never express opinions beyond the most conventional pieties - those which do not require a justification of her authority. Nothing more clearly illustrates that our constitutional arrangement is based upon irrational faith rather than a need to defend its legitimacy. Congratulations upon your stand.
