Starmer says lobbying row ‘about those that can access PM by text’
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has said the government lobbying scandal, which saw the BBC reveal text messages sent between the prime minister and businessman James Dyson, is about “those that can access the prime minister by text”. Speaking to Sky News, the MP said there are many people he can think of who “would have loved” to have had Boris Johnson’s phone number - including struggling businesses, self-employed people and nurses on the front line. Johnson has since said the makes “absolutely no apology at all for shifting heaven and earth and doing everything I possibly could”.
