Twitter has launched its own music service which recommends tracks based on which musicians users follow.
The service uses tweets sent by users to detect the most popular tracks and artists and also allows Twitter members to see who the artists they follow are listening to.
The app, called #Music, comes after Facebook announced its own music tie-in, which publishes the songs users' friends are listening to. Twitter uses iTunes as standard but can also link to Rdio and Spotify.
