A 400-page novel timed to accompany the release of Battlefield 3's video game excursion has appeared on retail sites, citing British military specialist Andy McNab as author.
The ex-SAS (Special Air Service) man came to fame with Bravo Two Zero, recounting events of the first Gulf War.
McNab was already attached to the Battlefield 3 project, operating in an advisory capacity to DICE, the Swedish studio behind the October 25-due game.
Studio head Patrick Bach appears as co-author on Barnes & Noble's eBook listing for November, while Amazon dates the Battlefield 3 tome for October 25.
Battefield 3 launches in North America on October 25, with European, South African and Australasian debuts following the same week.
That puts it a fortnight ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's November 8 debut.
