FOREST CAT: well-backed when a promising fourth to Musica in an 18-runner juvenile maiden at Beverley on Wednesday. The only newcomer, she struggled to go the early pace before being denied a clear run inside the last and can win before the end of the season. (Mrs J Cecil)

NORTH REEF: runner-up to the enigmatic but useful Bagshot at Sandown on Wednesday on his first outing since winning impressively at Catterick almost a year ago, and only his third start in all. His shrewd trainer should be able to place him successfully after this promising showing. (Sir M Prescott)
