Palestinian students holed up in a West Bank university for the third day yesterday in defiance of troops searching for gunmen, AFP reports.

The leading Palestinian in the occupied territories, Faisal al- Husseini, stepped up the pressure on the government by announcing a fast of about 100 prominent community figures in Nablus.
