A milkman has been temporarily blinded by robbers who squirted quick-setting glue into his face, sticking his eyelids together.

Adrian Stayte, 27, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, was attacked during his delivery round yesterday morning, but he was not carrying any cash and his assailants fled empty-handed.

Doctors decided not to try immediately to unstick his eyelids. They say they are 'reasonably confident' that his eyes have suffered no permanent damage.
