David Pogue's Macs for Dummies is part of a series that thinks in terms of 'what you hope to see' and 'what you might see' when trying to take new users through the system.

It is American - as is most computer literature - but apart from it being irksome to set the machine on California time on a wet cold British day, that presents no real communication problems.

At pounds 15.45 it could be a cheaper way to get your new system up and running rather having to make regular calls to the Apple Help Line.
